Below you will find all of the local scholarships that have been turned into the Counseling Office. Paper copies for some scholarships are also available in the hallway of the counseling office. All scholarship opportunities will be posted in the Google Classroom as well under the "Classwork" tab. Please see the counselors with any questions or help with your scholarship applications!
Whole Hart Wellness Future Healthcare Leaders Scholarship
Two scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded.

Freeman Em Scholarship 2025
Eligibility:
A senior high school student or currently enrolled pre-professional/college student who demonstrates an expressed interest in a future career in emergency medicine - such as nursing, physician, physician assistant, respiratory therapy, EMS, etc. Applicant must be from or attend a school within the following counties: Hall/Barrow/Lumpkin/Habersham/
Ideally the candidate will be an underrepresented minority in medicine, a woman, or would otherwise demonstrate commitment to increasing diversity in emergency medicine.

We ask that you submit a 500-1000 word essay on interest in Emergency Medicine and how you will use your unique attributes to aid the community and contribute to the diversity of emergency medicine.

Dianne Brown Enslen Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Application submission must be made via email in PDF form to Mrs. Osborne at natasha.osborne@hart.k12.ga.us by April 18th .
Final scholarship recipient decision will be made by an anonymous person in the nursing field that will read the essay only. No name, personal, or demographic information will be shared with the anonymous person. Scholarship recipient will be awarded at Senior Awards Night on May 1st.
Hart County Pilot Club - Anchor Scholarship
Pilot Club of Hartwell will award one $1000.00 scholarship to a graduating senior of Hart
County High School. This scholarship is available to all HCHS Anchor Seniors.

Hart County Farm Bureau Scholarship
One winner will be picked from the applications that are submitted to the state for the local scholarship.

- Presentation: The committee would like to present this award at the Honors Night at whatever high school the student might attend. Award: $1000 per year

- Must be accepted into an accredited higher education institution.
- Must have been accepted into a medical field related program.

The USDA 1890 National Scholars Program is aimed at bolstering educational and career opportunities for students from rural or underserved communities around the country. It was established in 1992 as part of the partnership between USDA and the 1890 land-grant universities.
The scholarship may be renewed each year, contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and normal progress toward a bachelor's degree.
General Eligibility
To be eligible for the USDA/1890 National Scholars Program scholarship, a student must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
- Have a minimum of 21 ACT, 1080 SAT scores
- Have been accepted for admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Land-Grant Universities.
- Study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related academic disciplines
- Demonstrate leadership and community service
- Submit an official transcript, from each high school and college attended, with the school seal and an authorized official's signature
- Submit a 250-500 word essay for each of the following questions:
- How will the USDA 1890 National Scholarship support your career aspirations? If there is a particular mission area within USDA that also supports your career aspirations, please indicate that mission area.
- What factors have influenced your decision to pursue academic studies in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or a supporting discipline (such as economics, computer science, accounting, etc.)?

North Georgia Credit Union will provide a $1,000 scholarship again this year for a Hart County High School senior.
Applicants must be a member of North Georgia Credit Union, or the child of a North Georgia Credit Union member.
The scholarship application can be found on our website at www.ngcu.org. There is a banner on our website for the scholarship information and they can click on it. The application link can also be found listed under the “Services” tab and under the “Applications” tab.
The scholarship committee reviews the applications after the deadline of March 3, 2025.
Please note that there are also links to a Patterson Pump Federal Credit Union (PPFCU) scholarship application on our website under the “Applications” and “Services” tabs. PPFCU merged with NGCU effective on 1/1/2022. As part of the merger agreement, a $3,000 scholarship was established for employees of Patterson Pump Company, or the child, grandchild, or dependent of an employee or retiree.

NGCF Scholarship Opportunity
Charles Black Construction Co, Inc. College Scholarship
The Charles Black Scholarship Fund award identifies and recognizes high school seniors at various high schools in northeast Georgia who have achieved excellence in school and community life. The scholarship fund was created by the Charles Black Construction Company in 2002 as a way to show appreciation for past business relationships by giving back to the community. The scholarship was formally known as the Northeast Georgia School Superintendent’s Scholarship. The resulting scholarships recognize today’s graduating seniors, inspire undergraduate students, and will impact the quality of life in our communities for generations to come. The scholarship is a one-time award, and the recipient school systems and amounts are determined each year by the Charles Black Construction Company. The 2025 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.

NEWFDA Scholarship (Purina) - Employees and Children of Purina Employees
Eligibility and Details:
- Open to high school seniors and college undergraduate/graduate students who are dependents of employees or are themselves employees of a NEWFDA Member company.
- Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, community service, and leadership.
- Students may re-apply annually if eligibility requirements are met.
- Applications are reviewed by an independent faculty panel from a prestigious New England University.

Primary Care Doctor Scholarship
This scholarship is open to seniors who have a passion for pursuing a medical degree that specializes in primary care. Applications are due to the Counseling Office by Monday, March 31st, 2025.

Rotary DISTRICT Scholarship. This is not the local Rotary Club scholarships, but instead the District level.
The District is prepared to award annually five (5) needs-based District 6910 Education Scholarships to qualified graduating high school students with a one-time award of $2,000 each. Applicants must reside in the District and must be sponsored by a Rotary Club in District 6910. A Rotary Club may not sponsor more than one student. Additionally, the applicant must plan to study at a Georgia public postsecondary institution, including colleges, universities, and technical colleges, and pursue a career in one of Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus.

NB CARES SCHOLARSHIP
The Adams Building Supplies Scholarship Program was created to cultivate a skilled workforce; fostering growth,
innovation, and community strength by investing in and encouraging educational pursuits, ensuring a future where
individuals thrive in fulfilling trade and construction careers. The program is funded in collaboration with Nation’s Best
Holdings, LLC and the NB Cares Scholarship Fund.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a graduating senior of the Class of 2025, or hold a high school diploma or GED.
- Have plans to enroll, as a full-time student, in an accredited trade school or accredited construction management degree program for the 2025-2026 academic year. Apprenticeship programs will also be considered.
- Must meet entrance requirements for trade school or university in which they are applying.
- Be recommended by a teacher, coach, community leader, or mentor, addressing the applicant’s personal or professional achievement. Up to 3 recommendation letters will be accepted.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Not be employed by Nation’s Best, or any other Nation’s Best store at the time of application.

The Watson Brown Foundation Scholarship is a $6000 scholarship that is awarded based on both need and merit to students who attend four-year, regionally accredited, non-profit institutions in the US. Scholarships are renewable for four years of undergraduate education.
2025 GFA Scholarships

The Gates Scholarship
Eligibility requirements:
Additionally, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university.
*For American Indian/Alaska Native, proof of tribal enrollment will be required.
An ideal candidate will also have:
Application deadline: Phase I of the application opened July 15, with a submission deadline of Sunday, September 15, 2024, 2:00 PM PT.
- A high school senior
- From at least one of the following ethnicities: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native*, Asian/Pacific Islander American, and/or Hispanic American
- Pell-eligible
- A US citizen, national, or permanent resident
- In a good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class)
- Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)
