Below you will find all of the local scholarships that have been turned into the Counseling Office. Paper copies for some scholarships are also available in the hallway of the counseling office. All scholarship opportunities will be posted in the Google Classroom as well under the "Classwork" tab. Please see the counselors with any questions or help with your scholarship applications!

Applications will be judged in March by a panel of industry members.

Charles Black Construction Co, Inc. College Scholarship
The Charles Black Scholarship Fund award identifies and recognizes high school seniors at various high schools in northeast Georgia who have achieved excellence in school and community life. The scholarship fund was created by the Charles Black Construction Company in 2002 as a way to show appreciation for past business relationships by giving back to the community. The scholarship was formally known as the Northeast Georgia School Superintendent’s Scholarship. The resulting scholarships recognize today’s graduating seniors, inspire undergraduate students, and will impact the quality of life in our communities for generations to come. The scholarship is a one-time award, and the recipient school systems and amounts are determined each year by the Charles Black Construction Company. The 2026 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.
Criteria for this scholarship:
- Graduating senior of one of the designated high schools
- Planning to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school

2026 InspirASIAN Scholarship
InspirASIAN, a non-profit employee group led by AT&T employees, is seeking qualified applicants for its scholarship awards. The scholarship opportunity is open to college-bound high school seniors with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale. The student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing within the eligible states listed on our website, Georgia being one of them. Although InspirASIAN promotes community within the Asian-Pacific Islander & Asian Indian communities - our scholarship opportunities are open to all students regardless of race.
All scholarship applications must be submitted online by January 31, 2026, 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time.

The Elbert County Gun Club is giving away, two (2) Scholarships for $1,000 each. One will go to a member's child or grandchild, the other will go to a student in Elbert, Madison, Oglethorpe, Wilkes, Franklin, or Hart counties.
GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
1. Two, $1000 Scholarships will be awarded:
one recipient will be a child or grandchild of a club member;
one recipient will be a resident of Elbert County OR adjoining counties (Franklin, Hart, Madison, Oglethorpe, or Wilkes ).
2. Applicant must be a junior OR senior in high School OR Freshman in college.
3. Funds will be NON-TRANSFERABLE.
4. Check will be issued to School AND Recipient JOINTLY.
5. Funds MUST be used within 2 years of award of Scholarship.
6. Application must be received by Elbert County Gun Club by
March 22, 2026.

NB Cares Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements:
· Must be a graduating senior of the Class of 2026, or hold a high school diploma or GED.
· Have plans to enroll, as a full-time student, in an accredited trade school or accredited construction management degree program for the 2026-2027 academic year. Apprenticeship programs will also be considered.
· Must meet entrance requirements for trade school or university in which they are applying.
· Be recommended by a teacher, coach, community leader, or mentor, addressing the applicant’s personal or professional achievement. Up to 3 recommendation letters will be accepted.
· Demonstrate financial need.
· Not be employed at Nation’s Best, or any Nation’s Best store at the time of application. Spouses or Dependents of Employee ARE Eligible.
Other Important Information:
· Total scholarship will be up to $1,000. Scholarship will be awarded upon receipt of official letter from educational institution providing proof of enrollment.
· Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and graded on the application itself and the criteria mentioned above.
· Applications must be submitted through an online application no later than February 28th.
· The notification process will begin in May.

Classic Center Cultural Foundation Performing Arts & Visual Arts Scholarships
Applications for the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Scholarships are now available.
The deadline to apply is Friday, March 13.
The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic excellence. Each year, the Cultural Foundation awards scholarships to talented high school students in the performing and visual arts to help them pursue their passion.
- Each scholarship awards $2,000 to the student and an additional donation to the high school arts program to support creative initiatives.

The GEICC 2026 scholarship application is now open for graduating Georgia high school seniors who are pursuing a STEM career in the energy industry.

Peach State Federal Credit Union Scholarship
This year, we’re awarding $267,500 in scholarships and educational grants to seniors graduating from high school and adults seeking career advancement. Accepting applications December 1st-February 27th.
Watson Brown Scholarship
A $6,000 ANNUAL scholarship to be awarded to 250 students.

Horatio Alger Scholarship
Application Deadline: February 15, 2026
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at one of the target colleges/universities on our website (complete list can be found below)
- Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)
- Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
- Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
- Be a United States citizen

Voice of Democracy
The Voice of Democracy is open to students in grades 9-12 by the Oct.
31 deadline who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high
school or home study program in the United States, its territories and
possessions; or dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel in
overseas schools. All entries competing at the Post level must be in the hands of that VFW
Post by midnight, Oct. 31, 2025.
Patriot's Pen
VFW-sponsored youth essay competition gives

The Gates Scholarship
Eligibility:
- A high school senior
- Pell-eligible
- A US citizen or permanent resident
- In a good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
Additionally, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university.
- An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class)
- Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)
- Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)
Phase I of the application opened July 15, with a submission deadline of Monday, September 15, 2025, 2:00 PM PT.
