Below you will find all of the local scholarships that have been turned into the Counseling Office. Paper copies for some scholarships are also available in the hallway of the counseling office. All scholarship opportunities will be posted in the Google Classroom as well under the "Classwork" tab.  Please see the counselors with any questions or help with your scholarship applications!

Kathy Ford Martin Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship award of $500.00 will be presented to a graduating senior from Hart County High School that has previously completed 5th grade at North Hart Elementary and who will be attending an approved post secondary institution.

Lauren Stewart Wilson Scholarship

The scholarship award of $1,500.00 will be presented to a graduating senior from Hart County High School that has competed on a middle or high school sports team in Hart County and who will be attending an approved post secondary institution.

Freeman EM Scholarship 2026

Dr. Donald Freeman retired from Emergency Medicine in 2021 after a 38-year career in Gainesville/Hall County. He leaves a record of integrity, compassion, and advocacy for the community. This award seeks to identify a candidate who embodies these themes. Dr. Freeman has always been an advocate for women and underrepresented minorities in emergency medicine. An additional focus will be to increase diversity of students enrolling in the practice of medicine.

Eligibility:

A senior high school student or currently enrolled pre-professional/college student who demonstrates an expressed interest in a future career in emergency medicine - such as nursing, physician, physician assistant, respiratory therapy, EMS, etc. Applicant must be from or attend a school within the following counties: Hall/Barrow/Lumpkin/Habersham/Jackson/White/Gwinnett/Forsyth/Union/Banks/ Dawson/Hart/Rabun/Stephens/Towns.

Ideally the candidate will be an underrepresented minority in medicine, a woman, or would otherwise demonstrate commitment to increasing diversity in emergency medicine.

Applicants:

We ask that you submit a 500-1000 word essay on interest in Emergency Medicine and how you will use your unique attributes to aid the community and contribute to the diversity of emergency medicine.

2026 Coag Scholarship

Eligibility:
The COAG Scholarship is open to any Georgia high school senior (or a GED 1equivalency dated December 31, 2024 to May 31, 2026) who is a United States and Georgia citizen graduating by the spring of 2026.  You must be seeking an undergraduate degree, not a diploma, certification, master’s or doctoral degree.

Procedures:
Your completed application, residency documentation, acceptance letter, title page, and essay should be EMAILED to coagdirector@gmail.com no later than midnight on March 13, 2026 in ONE EMAIL, not several separate emails.
Submissions must be sent directly to coagdirector@gmail.com, not through a local constitutional officer.

South Hart Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship is for any former South Hart students. Two scholarship awards of $1,000.00 each will be
presented to two graduating seniors from Hart County High School. This scholarship should be used for college

The J. Kenneth and Arlene D. Whitlow Family Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is open to high school seniors or GED graduates who:

  • Live in Elbert, Hart, Franklin, Wilkes, or Lincoln counties

  • Plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university as a full-time student

  • Have a minimum 2.8 GPA

  • Demonstrate financial need

For the 2026 cycle, one renewable scholarship (up to 4 years) of up to $30,000 in total will be awarded. Funds will be distributed in increments of up to $7,500 per year (up to four years) and are intended to cover remaining eligible expenses - such as tuition, fees, books, and supplies - after other scholarships have been applied.

The application window is open through March 31, 2026.

Eligibility:
HCHS Female Senior that has been accepted to a two-year or four-year University or Technical College.

Minimum GPA: 87%

Lewis Cenker Scholarship

Scholarship Applications Are Due March 15th!


Must be entering an area of study directly related to the home building industry.

Application must be completed in its entirety, and must signed by the Local HBA Executive Officer or a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lewis Cenker Scholarship Fund

Student must have at least a “B” grade point average.

J. Lee Barton Entrepreneur Scholarship

NGCF is excited to announce that the 2026 NGCF Scholarship Cycle is OPEN NOW through March 2nd!

Opportunities that are specifically available for your students include:

Charles Black Construction Co, Inc. College Scholarship

The Charles Black Scholarship Fund award identifies and recognizes high school seniors at various high schools in northeast Georgia who have achieved excellence in school and community life. The scholarship fund was created by the Charles Black Construction Company in 2002 as a way to show appreciation for past business relationships by giving back to the community. The scholarship was formally known as the Northeast Georgia School Superintendent’s Scholarship. The resulting scholarships recognize today’s graduating seniors, inspire undergraduate students, and will impact the quality of life in our communities for generations to come. The scholarship is a one-time award, and the recipient school systems and amounts are determined each year by the Charles Black Construction Company. The 2026 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.

  • Graduating senior of one of the designated high schools
  • Planning to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school

2026 InspirASIAN Scholarship

InspirASIAN, a non-profit employee group led by AT&T employees, is seeking qualified applicants for its scholarship awards. The scholarship opportunity is open to college-bound high school seniors with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale. The student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing within the eligible states listed on our website, Georgia being one of them. Although InspirASIAN promotes community within the Asian-Pacific Islander & Asian Indian communities - our scholarship opportunities are open to all students regardless of race.

NB Cares Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

· Must be a graduating senior of the Class of 2026, or hold a high school diploma or GED.

· Have plans to enroll, as a full-time student, in an accredited trade school or accredited construction management degree program for the 2026-2027 academic year. Apprenticeship programs will also be considered.  

· Must meet entrance requirements for trade school or university in which they are applying.

· Be recommended by a teacher, coach, community leader, or mentor, addressing the applicant’s personal or professional achievement. Up to 3 recommendation letters will be accepted.

· Demonstrate financial need.

· Not be employed at Nation’s Best, or any Nation’s Best store at the time of application. Spouses or Dependents of Employee ARE Eligible.

Other Important Information:

· Total scholarship will be up to $1,000. Scholarship will be awarded upon receipt of official letter from educational institution providing proof of enrollment.

· Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and graded on the application itself and the criteria mentioned above.

· Applications must be submitted through an online application no later than February 28th.

· The notification process will begin in May.

Classic Center Cultural Foundation Performing Arts & Visual Arts Scholarships

Applications for the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Scholarships are now available.

The deadline to apply is Friday, March 13.

The Classic Center Cultural Foundation is dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic excellence. Each year, the Cultural Foundation awards scholarships to talented high school students in the performing and visual arts to help them pursue their passion.

  • Each scholarship awards $2,000 to the student and an additional donation to the high school arts program to support creative initiatives.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at one of the target colleges/universities on our website (complete list can be found below)
  • Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)

The Voice of Democracy is open to students in grades 9-12 by the Oct.

The Gates Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • A high school senior
  • Pell-eligible
  • A US citizen or permanent resident
  • In a good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Additionally, a student must plan to enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university.

  • An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)
