Vision and Mission

STEAM education refers to the teaching of Science and Technology through the use of Engineering and Artistic processes, based on the principles of Mathematics.  STEAM provides students with the overarching view of how standards (that are typically taught is only specific content areas) are interconnected with other content areas, which also provides eye opening views of how real world problems are solved.  The goal of HCHS STEAM is to provide students with rigorous coursework that is focused on the development of solutions to real world problems through research, design, and problem solving.  STEAM education helps to prepare students to become active and effective members in society through the development of business and industry partnerships, internships, and capstone projects.

 Our Vision: For students to use higher-order thinking skills and to develop the skills necessary to research, design, produce, and communicate solutions to real world problems, to benefit their future and the future of society.

Our Mission: To provide students with the knowledge and skills that they will need as they move into college and careers, in order to solve the problems of the 21st Century and beyond.
